Keep in touch with English

Any suggestions about a good English novel for me to read?
Something different from Alice in wonderland, Flatland, Gulliver etc. Something more actual maybe...
A novel not too difficult to read beacause my english vocabulary isn't so rich.
Thanks!

how about the new Dan Brown's book? I haven't had the chance to read it yet, but if you like the type it shouldn't be too difficult to read.

I've red Leonardo code in italian. I think Dan Brown is a little bit "commercial", but for my aims it would be a not bad idea. Thanks!

I thought of something else. if you like history and biographies I strongly suggest "I am Malala" from Malala Yousafzai

well, I guess you could just buy a better vocabulary :)
(sorry, I couldn’t resist)
however, you could also try “fifty shades of grey” (I’m pretty sure you won’t have to worry too much about your vocabulary XD)

Which literary genre do you prefer?
In my opinion reading novel is a good way to enlarge your vocabulary, better than buying a vocabulary.

it might be worth pointing out that I was joking about the vocabulary (and also about "fifty shades of grey") :)

@v3ct0r, I know. "Fifty shades of gray" is trash, not literature. However buying a vocabulary is a good suggestion, it could help you and you may enrich your personal vocabulary faster.

Hey, @jitter
a Hemingway novel? Or a Stevenson novel? I read two years ago "The bottle imp". It is a short story, but it is interesting in my opinion. If you want more, you could read "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".
In these days I have to read Robinson Crusoe and Tom Jones.
